    AIMS organization

AIMS consists of an Archive Collection Team and Education Team for North Korean refugees, among other displaced groups. AIMS stretches across the globe and continues to grow as the awareness of North Korean human rights spreads.

    Archive Collection Team

Our Archive Collection Team currently consists of 4 staff members from South Africa, Cameroon and 4 former North Korean citizens. In addition, we welcome a documentary film freelancer from Germany as well as a professional photographer from the United Kingdom.

    Education Team

Our Education team is made up by 3 staff members based out of South Korea.

    Past Projects

In 2008 and 2009, AIMS had previously collaborated with ThiNK, a Yale University student organization dedicated to raising awareness of the atrocities of North Korean human rights, in hosting a panel with a North Korean spy, North Korean refugees, and human rights activists. In 2009, beginning with U.S. Congress and making its way up the East Coast to human rights think tanks, including Yale University and Harvard University, AIMS went on a testimonial tour with a North Korean spy to expose as many students and potential activists to what is happening across the Pacific.

    Future Projects

AIMS is currently in the process of creating a documentary on displaced North Korean working as loggers in Russia; our documentary crew has been retracing their escape routes from China and neighboring countries as well as conducting interviews with the North Koreans who have resettled in another country. AIMS teams who interview and research on displaced North Korean refugees have ample experience working in the Asian countries and are well informed on North Korean issues. Due to the dangers and political and economic turmoil surrounding North Korea, documenting in regions such as China, Russia, and even North Korea would be impossible without our advisors and sponsors.

    To Get Involved

If you or your organization is interested in our mission to expose the most isolated regime and atrociously violated human rights in the world, we welcome you. We encourage you to be active and to help reach our mission to those interested in global activism.

About this event: Action for AIMS
About the book: "One Day, All Children: The Unlikely Triumph of Teach for America and What I Learned Along the Way"

Our goal is to expose the inhumane living conditions of displaced North Koreans and violations of human rights, both in North Korea and abroad.

AIMS is driven to pursue ambitious projects to place North Korea on the radar of millions of intellects, activists, and sponsors who are unaware of the massive scale on which the ill-treatment of North Korean refugees and citizens occur. Like how the well-documentation of the Holocaust has created unity for the Jewish community around the world, AIMS strives to provide an archive on which displaced North Koreans can stand to create communities and pride. Therefore, AIMS is taking the role of sharing this information with you—we will be archiving the history of an isolated and hidden culture so that its people can successfully integrate into more stable societies and countries.
